Photo Competition - Submit
Upload your best digital photographs here! Shots will be voted upon by the general public in the photo competition page. Successful submissions will be rewarded with a £20 voucher for the site once the full-size image has been received. (N.B successful submissions are entirely at our discretion and may not be the vote-winners).
By uploading, you grant us a sole license to use your image in our greetings cards, or any other products; however, you retain copyright. By uploading, you assert copyright of the image. We do not accept images in which individuals can be identified. The upload of any obscene material or virus may result in us suing you! Basic Rules
- You must have an account with us and be logged in to submit a shot. To get an account, click here.
- You may upload up to three images for each vote. The images will be accessible to you via My Account. The images will be deleted entirely from our servers following the vote. You will be asked to email a full-size version of the image with a validation code if your submission is successful.
- Successful submissions will be rewarded with a £20 voucher for use on the site once the full-size image has been received.
- We are under no obligation to purchase the winning shot of each vote; our discretion is absolute. We will purchase those images which we believe will best improve our greetings card ranges.
- We will modify the images before they appear on the website: for example, they may be cropped square, and may be colour enhanced. We may choose an appropriate category for the image if you have not already done so.
- By uploading, you assert that you hold copyright on the image.
- We will censor images in which individuals can be identified.
- We will censor any inappropriate images, and we may bar you from holding an account with us.
- We may sue if you upload a virus or other file intended to do harm to our systems. We may sue if you upload an obscene image which causes offence to or damages our staff in any way.
- Please do not upload an image for which a full-size image is not available (see technical details).
Technical information
- Images uploaded for the vote:
- Should be digital
- Should be jpegs
- Cannot be larger than 2mb
- Will be downsized automatically by the server to 72 dpi; this means you can upload a file of any size (N.B. large files can take up to two minutes to load).
- The upload will be much faster if the image size is around 15kb
- Should have a corresponding original high resolution image (see below)
- If we love your image, we will invite you to email the full-sized image to us. This image:
- Should be digital
- Should be jpeg
- Should be able to produce 300 dpi image from the shot (usually results in approx 1.5 - 3.5 MB file)
Use of the images
- By uploading this image, you agree to sell us a sole license to use the full size image for our cards or for any other products we may produce, for as many items as we like.
- You retain copyright, which means that we cannot resell the image itself to a third party. You would not be able to sell an exclusive license to anyone else to produce greetings cards, canvases, photocards or any other products for which we may use your shot.
- We reserve the right not to make any use of your image whatsoever.
